Severe anaemia and refusal of transfusion
You are the medical registrar. Maya Okafor, 42, has gastrointestinal bleeding that is now controlled. Her haemoglobin is 58 g/L. She is alert, haemodynamically stable and has capacity. She has clearly stated that she will not accept donor blood for religious reasons. Discuss the situation and agree an immediate plan.
Complete the clinical encounter within 6 minutes where examination is required, preserving at least 4 minutes for discussion.
